Landscape

Margaret’s love of her homeland inspires her to capture Scotland’s intoxicating beauty in her paintings of both her native Northeast as well as the outstanding wild splendour of the Northwest Highlands with which she has held a long and deep emotional connection.

“At any given time, I like to be working on at least one landscape painting alongside my abstract pieces. As my evolving style meanders between realistic and semi- abstract, my aim remains the same. That is, to fully capture Scotland’s unique atmosphere and beauty. Working both plein-air and from multiple photographs, I pull together the elements that I feel best represent the essence of the area, whatever the weather or time of year, and whether a recognisable location or not.”
